Framed underwater frog

Do you know frogs breath through their skin when they are underwater? That a frog can hibernate all winter in mud, breathing through it’s skin and living off it’s fat? This frog is a swimmer, right now he is just hanging out at the bottom of the creek, resting, but he is ready to kick to the surface at any time. Now on Etsy for $20.

This is a two color, 2 layer print, the wavy blue background is printed onto 10″ x 8″ Rives BFK paper, and the frog is printed in green and translucent, you can see the translucency in the detail, the frog is 6″ x 4″. The hand printed block does not come framed, it is only for reference.

This is it, meet the artist day at Wave Hill, November 16 at 1:30. My exhibition has been up since October 18th and I have met many a friend at Wave Hill for a nice tour, but this weekend is the big one, where everyone can come and help me celebrate the completion of this year long project. Be sure to check out the subway construction if you are coming up on the 1 train, driving, bus and metro-north are all options, see the travel page at Wave Hill.

If you have never been to Wave Hill you are in for a real treat. This is a very special place, with a great cafe, great art exhibitions, and beautiful gardens that you can hang out all day in. I hope to see you Sunday, after that I am off to Canada for a couple weeks on a new adventure in artist residencies.
