What happens when you combine the Moth Migration Program with PrintSocial? A really good time and an apartment covered in moths. PrintSocial is a project I oriented in 2010. PrintSocial is an exchange between 2-4 people, at least 2 dogs and possibly some babies during the process of making prints in my home rather than the studio. It is about coming together, eating food, making prints, and enjoying each others company. It is a social exchange with artists and non-artists of all ages. You can read more about PrintSocial and download a catalog by clicking here. Maybe you want to come over?
Corra, a new friend is about to move to Canada with her new husband. Jessica is my former TA and now dear friend. Josh, a relatively new friend I met through one of my former and favorite students, Joanna. Corra and Jessica are trained printmakers. It was Josh’s first time! I love first time printmakers. I get the privilege of witness that remarkable moment of discovery when they pull their first print!
You can think of PrintSocual as the old time quilting bee, sitting around a large table with new and old friends making honest connections, except exchange quilting with printmaking and you have PrintSocial! Coupled with the Moth Migration Project, we are collectively working on an exhibition for August. Now through April I will host one per week, all are welcome. Their moths are spectacular!!!!
